If at any time you need to download a torrent file but are stuck without a torrent client, head to Bitlet.org. All you need to do is copy the torrent metafile URL, paste it in Bitlet and press Download.

Experience Google Earth in your browser

Google has recently released a browser plug-in that lets you experience Google Earth inside a browser.

The new plugin is accompanied by an API that web developers can use to easily incorporate Google Earth into their applications which can then be embedded in web pages. The Google Earth API is a free beta service, available for any web site that is free to consumers.

Wobzip - Free web based uncompression tool

Wobzip is a free online tool that can uncompress files on the fly. Wobzip can uncompress most compressed file formats like ZIP, 7z, GZIP, BZIP2, TAR, RAR, CAB, ISO, ARJ, LZHCHM, Z, CPIO, RPM, DEB and NSIS.

Wobzip lets you uncompress files residing on your computer as well as directly from a url. Once the files are uncompressed, you can download the contents of the compressed file as individual files or collectively as a .zip. Windows XP natively supports zip files and so you can easily extract the files without any use of third party softwares.

Tweetcube - Sharing files on Twitter made easy

Tweetcube is a free service that allows you to share files on Twitter. You can share images, videos, music and more with just a couple of clicks.

Just log in to TweetCube using your Twitter username and password, upload a file, add a message and publish it to share with your twitter friends. Pretty simple. The uploaded files can be of the type .zip, .rar, .txt, .jpg, .png, .gif or a .jpg. While the size of a file that you can upload is limited to 10MB, there is no limit to the number of files you can upload. Older files are automatically deleted after 30 days.

Almost all email services have a limit on the the maximum size of files that you can send a attachments. For instance, in Gmail this limit is 20MB.

Filemail.com is a free service that lets you send large files to anyone with an email address. With the free service you can send files as large as 2GB. Just fill in the recepient’s and your email addresses, type in your message and upload the file. (more…)
