Docufarm – Search and view online documents easily without downloading

If you are looking to search the web for documents of the type pdf, doc, rtf, ppt, xls and ps, then apart from your favorite search engine you may also want to use Docufarm.

Docufarm is a free web search tool especially for document files. What’s special about Docufarm is that once you have the search results you can view all the documents online in your browser without having to download. This is really great since it saves you a lot of time and bandwidth that you would otherwise spend downloading the files only to find out later that the file is of no use to you.

The Docufarm online viewer works really good. I tried viewing a few documents of different type. I must say that all of those documents were rendered really well.

For multipage documents, you get to see the pages in thumbnail view. Once you click on a page thumbview you are shown the larger view.

You don’t necessarily have to make a search in Docufarm to view a document. If you have a link to an online document you can just paste that link in Docufarm and press the View button. But if searched through Docufarm, the search keyword gets highlighted in the viewed documents.

Docufarm extensions are available for both Internet Explorer and Firefox. These extensions allow you to just right click on a link and choose “View on docufarm”. The extension will simply redirect to docufarm’s server.

When you view a document through Docufarm, copy of the document first gets downloaded to the Docufarm server and is cached so that any future requests for the same document can be handled faster. However, if you feel uncomfortable leaving a document in docufarm’s cache, you can delete a document from the cache after viewing it.

If you have a web site or a blog which contain links to documents , you can automatically redirect your visitors to view the document using Docufarm by just adding this line of script to the page.
