If you want to learn French, would you prefer to learn it from a French knowing Indian or a native French speaker? I suppose it would be the latter.
But how are you to find a native french speaker unless you know one already? This is where myhappyplanet.com can be immensely helpful.

MyHappyPlanet.com is an online community for people who are passionate about learning languages.
With MyHappyPlanet, you can practice speaking with a native speaker, learn more about other cultures, and make friends with people anywhere in the world.
You can search for other members of the site who are native speakers of the language you want to learn and also know another language that you know. Obviously, both of you need to know a common language to interact.
The community is not just for learning languages. You could put it to other use too. For example, suppose you are visiting a country or city for the first time, you might want to find a person who could help you out when you set you feet there. Myhappyplanet could be a good place to find such a buddy.

Myhappyplanet.com is a pretty cool site..after reading this post I checked it out. I have been using another online language learning site called http://www.edufire.com!! It’s pretty cool, they offer many language learning tools for free like flachcards, videos, forums and social networking! I have had 4 sessions so far with tutors via video chat and I really liked it! I’m trying to relearn spanish for my career and I’m learning alot so far! Check it out http://www.edufire.com
Hi Steph! This is Kimberley Ong, Community Manager at MyHappyPlanet.com. Thank you for putting in good words about our site.
One big thing that sets MyHappyPlanet apart from Edufire and other similar language learning sites is that you actually get to learn and practice languages in a more fun, informal, and I dare say more effective, way by interacting with native speakers instead of professional tutors. MyHappyPlanet offers a more relaxed, friendly environment that fosters genuine relationships among members.
We do have learning videos and text-based lessons on the site, and all of these are contributed to our library by MyHappyPlanet members. We help one another in this community
