Flash drive / USB drive / Pen drive / Thumb drive – whatever you call it, they are one of the most convenient devices today, probably next only to your mobile phone. The prices too have dropped in recent months. For the price that I bought my 512MB USB drive six months back, I can get a 2 GB drive today.
Earlier, flash drives were used for mere storing documents and other assorted files. But today, thanks to the larger capacities, you can carry whole applications in your pocket. In fact, there are even fully running operating systems that you can load into your flash drive. All you need is a computer to plug it in and start working.
I always keep looking for more and more interesting and usable portable applications. There are quite a few sites which have a very good list of portable applications. Here are some of them.
- portableapps.com
- nedwolf.com
- theinfobox.com
- loosewire
- kikizas.net
- snapfiles.com
- wikipedia.org
- portablefreeware.com
- tinyapps.org
- meprisant
- quate.net
- combobulate.com
- d4th.com
I intend to update this list as and when I find new sites. If you know of some good sites please let me know so I can add to the list.
You may want to bookmark this page so that when you need more applications you can check out these sites.
