mp3DirectCut - Edit MP3 files and make cool ringtones for your mobiles

mp3DirectCutNow more and more mobile phones support using MP3 music as ringtones. But sometimes you only want to use a selected piece of your favorite song or music as your ringtone. Here is a free utility that you might find useful.

mp3DirectCut is a very small program (164Kb) that helps you edit MPEG audio directly. You can remove parts, change the volume, split files or copy regions to several new files. The best part is that unlike some other softwares, it does not decompress the MP3 file for editing and then compress it again. It does all the editing with the file compressed. So the results are quick and more importantly, since there is no need for re-encoding, the original quality of the music is preserved.

The built in recorder creates mp3 on the fly from your audio input. If you are not happy with the volume of your music you can increase/decrease the volume and you can even add effects like fade-in /fade-out.

And of course you can change the ID3 tags too.

All in all this amazing little tool can does a lot for its size and is a must have if you play around with your MP3 files.
