Do you remember how fast your computer used to boot up when it was new? But now, it takes over 2 mins or even longer after you switch it on before you can start any work.
If you are one of those who keep downloading and trying out new software, sooner than later your computer is going to be bogged down by all those invisible apps that queue up to start along with Windows. This adds up considerably to the boot time of your computer.
You could try to locate manually which applications are starting up during booting and prevent them from doing so. But I would suggest that you try Soluto.
Soluto is a free tool that is presently in Beta. Soluto calls itself Anti-frustration software, and I would say that it deserves to be called so. I have been using it for the past several weeks and it has remarkably reduced my booting time. Before using Soluto, my computer used to take well over 100 Secs to boot. After installing Soluto and after stopping 31 applications from running during startup, I have saved as much as 36 Secs. That’s phenomenal, I would say.

Soluto helps you discover which applications are starting up with Windows and gives you the option to either ‘Pause’ them, meaning, prevent it from starting during boot, or you can ‘Delay’ them so that the applications are started well after the booting process has completed.
Soluto does not mess with system applications and services that are needed by Windows. While it does recognize these application, these cannot be stopped with Soluto…yet.
If you are keen on reducing your boot time, then Soluto is for you.
Btw, this is an honest review by a Soluto user. Neither am I being paid for this or do I have anything to do with Soluto – other than being a happy user.
