Listing the contents of a folder/directory made easy

In an earlier post we saw a method to print a list of folder contents. That method, though effective, involves editing of Windows registry which itself could discourage the not so computer savvy from trying it out. Fortunately, there seems to be a much easier way to list the contents of a particular folder.

File Assembler is a small utility which retrieves filenames from desired directory and makes list of them. Once the program reads the filenames from the selected directory you can choose to export the list to a text file.

It offers a few options for you to modify the end result. For instance, you can clip some parts of the filenames or exclude extensions. You can even sort the list by the filenames.Frankly, I have never felt the necessity to create a list of folder contents. But I have noticed that people have reached my earlier post searching for such an option. File Assembler offers a very simple solution at a price of $0.
