IE Tab - Switch to Internet Explorer without leaving Firefox

Even if you use Firefox as your primary browser, there might be occasions when you are forced to use Internet Explorer. Like for instance, downloading updates from Microsoft website or running an online virus scan which requires an ActiveX to be installed. There could also be the rare case of a page that does not render itself correctly in Firefox.

If you have been using Firefox for quite some time, you might find that you hate to leave Firefox, even if it was for a short time. If that’s true, then what you need is IE Tab.

‘Problems with this Web page might prevent …’ - Get rid of this IE Annoyance

If you use Internet Explorer to browse the web, then at some point you are sure to have encountered the following error message:

“Problems with this Web page might prevent it from being displayed properly or functioning properly. In the future, you can display this message by double-clicking the warning icon displayed in the status bar.”

If you use IE and you haven’t seen this message yet, you are lucky.

If this error message bothers you frequently you can get rid of it with a simple tweak.

Open the Tools menu in Internet Explorer and select Internet Options. On the Advanced page of the resulting Internet Options dialog box, locate and select the ‘Disable Script Debugging (Internet Explorer) option.

Also locate and deselect the ‘Display A Notification About Every Script Error‘ option. Click OK to save the changes. Restart Internet Explorer.
