Microsoft will not be including a full version of Internet Explorer in European versions of Windows 7 when the OS is released later this year.
Windows 7, expected to be released on 22 October, is Microsoft’s replace for windows Vista which, like all previous versions of Windows, had the Internet Explorer browser built in.
However, Windows 7 might include a version of IE that expirer after a short period to give surfers time to download a full version of IE or another browser of their choice.
The decision comes after Microsoft was fined £765m last year following a ruling by the European Commission that bundling IE and Windows Media Player in Windows stifled competition.
