Fresh UI is a free tool that lets you set hundreds of useful hidden settings in Windows XP/2000/98/95/Me. The various settings are neatly categorized and placed in a tree structure. Things that you can do with Fresh UI include:
- Customizing Windows User Interface (UI)
- Optimizing system settings
- Optimizing hardware settings
- Customizing Windows application settings
- Control user environment with policies
Almost all of these settings can also be set by tweaking the Windows Registry, but using Fresh UI is much safer and easier, especially for those who are not familiar with Windows Registry. For instance, in an earlier post I had talked about how to exactly position a desktop wallpaper by tweaking the Registry. Fresh UI lets you do the same thing much more easily. If you have installed Fresh UI check Windows Interface>Desktop>Wallpaper>Wallpaper Location.
For each of the settings that can be changed, Fresh UI displays a short but clear description on the top. If you like playing with Windows and tweaking it, then you should try Fresh UI.
Though Fresh UI is a freeware, if you want to use it for more than 11 days, you need to enter a registration number which can be obtained freely by filling up a short registration form.
