Did you know that Windows XP has a tool for sending and receiving faxes from your PC? Yes it does. Here is how to enable and use the fax service in Windows XP.
Install the fax tool by choosing Control Panel->Add or Remove Programs->Add/Remove Windows Components, Enable the Fax Services checkbox and click Next to install it.
Choose Start->All Programs->Accessories->Communications->Fax->Fax Console to run the Fax Configuration Wizard. You can now set it up with your details, fax number and modem and decide how you want to handle incoming faxes.
Compose a fax from the Fax Console by choosing file->Send a Fax and complete the details in the Send Fax Wizard. You can use contact details from your Address book to automate filling in recipient information.
