Most laser printers are designed such that after printing, the pages emerge face down. So, for a multipage document, this puts the pages in the right order when the stack is turned over.
On the contrary, most inkjets print pages face up, resulting in the first page being put on the bottom of the stack. You would then have to reorder the pages, a real waste of time if there are several pages. A few inkjets default to reversing the print order so that the last page prints first, the first page prints last, and everything’s in the right order.
For those inkjets whose drivers lack the ability to print in the reverse order, however, some programs also can print in the reverse order.

For example, in Word 2007, choose the Office button, then Word Options, and go to Advanced options. Scroll down to the Print options, and check the box named Print pages in reverse order. In Word 2003, go to Tools>Options and under the Print tab, add a check to the Reverse print order check box.
There is an alternative approach for Word to tell the program to print the range in reverse order. For example, to print a 20 page document, press Ctrl+P to bring up the Print dialog box and in the page range mention the page numbers as 20-1. This will cause the 20th page to be printed first and the first page to be printed last.
The alternative approach may also work for some programs that lack a reverse-print option but offer the option to print a range of pages.
